Kerri and Ryan’s Wedding at Legare Waring House

Kerri and Ryan grew up together.
They grew to become soulmates.
Ryan took Kerri to the prom. That’s how long Kerri and Ryan have loved each other.
I love photographing childhood sweethearts. You can see the depth of the love as well as the playful energy that grows between people who have been friends for years.
Kerri, who works in the banquets and events industry, did not want a traditional, cookie-cutter reception. Neither did Ryan, who is a pharmacist. What a great job this couple did! They united in a beautiful sacred ceremony, then threw a fantastic party for their families and friends.
The couple married at The Legare-Waring House in Charleston, one of our favorite wedding venues. In addition to a wonderful venue, Kerri and Ryan also had a wonderful wedding officiant: their personal friend, Friar Will Mitchell.
Kerri and Ryan also got a big surprise during the ceremony — a wedding crasher. As the couple united in marriage by a beautiful pond, an alligator poked its snout out of the water and swam around. Don’t worry; there is a sign warning the unsuspecting that an alligator lives in the pond.
After a lovely service, the fun began.
“We had an amazing band, a Krispy Kreme doughnuts wedding cake, a casino, a whiskey/bourbon bar and a cigar lounge,” Kerri said of her reception. “We offered a sunset cruise with a seafood buffet for our out-of-town guests on Friday night.”
After the blissful day ended, the couple honeymooned in Zihuatenejo, Mexico.
“The moments we had before the ceremony/madness started are priceless to us,” Kerri added, “Oh, and we loved that the alligator attended!”
